How it all started…

Our story, Cliffs Note version:

B and I went to middle school and high school together. We didn’t remember knowing each other in middle school. A few months after we started dating we were looking through our middle school yearbooks. He found a message I wrote to him in seventh grade! It went something like this…”B I hate you. Have a good summer. Call me (insert my phone number here)”. Any one that has known us for long knows that is just us. I can’t remember if or what he wrote to me but I am sure it was a similar note.

In high school we became good friends. By our senior year B was one of my very best friends. We had several classes together and he would walk me to and from every class that we didn’t share.

B was funny. That’s why I liked him so much. We were silly and goofy together, he made me laugh and I was drawn to him. We went on a date near Halloween of our senior year. One date! I had fun with him, we kissed and I was smitten. I kind of knew that he was too! For whatever reason, we never went on another date. We went back to school like nothing had ever happened. (We were kids after all and didn’t really know how to act!) We continued to be friends through graduation in 2002, then he went his way and I went mine. I moved out of state to go to school. He stayed in our home town to go to school. We didn’t see or speak to each other again until…

The fall of 2004. I had moved back home and started classes at the local college. I was walking through the breeze way and spotted him, we passed a few times with just a smile and a nod. After a few weeks of this I, being the grown up that I am, finally went up to him and spoke to him. We started walking to classes together and meeting for lunch after classes. Before long we were talking on the phone every day and he would come to my house and hang out with me and my friends. I had my best friend back! Plus, he was way hotter than I had ever remembered which, was an unexpected bonus to our new found friendship was!

October 1st, 2004 my friends threw me a huge surprise birthday party! They invited him! I was more excited to see him than anyone else and that’s when I knew I was in trouble. The whole night I just wanted to kiss him. It wasn’t more than a few weeks later we talked about “us” and that we knew we both wanted to be more than just friends. The day after Thanksgiving he asked me to be his girlfriend! It was the cutest thing ever! I didn’t even know you still asked this! I seriously didn’t think it would be more than a little fling!

Then came then ring! New Years Eve 2007 he proposed! I was in love with my ring and him of course! We married December 6th, 2008 after what can only be explained as the fastest 11 months of my life! We celebrated our one year wedding anniversary this past December in Texas.

B is my lobster, my love, my soul mate and I love him so much! I look forward to spending the rest of my life with him. Aaaand I am sure he would say the same thing! He better!
